Since its introduction, Apple Music Replay has
become an essential ritual for music fans around the world. Its popularity now
rivals that of Spotify Wrapped, with each platform offering its own vision of
the annual music summary. Apple Music, for its part, focuses on transparent
data and the ability to view your Replay all year long, allowing users to track
the evolution of their musical tastes in real time.
As always, Replay highlights several key indicators:
the total minutes listened, your most-streamed artists, your top
albums, your dominant genres, and your most replayed tracks.
For music enthusiasts, Apple even adds the possibility to view the progression
of their trends by month or season, a feature highly appreciated by those who
enjoy analyzing their musical journey.
New Categories for 2025
To further enrich the experience, Apple introduces
three new, highly relevant categories:
- Discovery: highlights the new artists
who caught your attention for the first time this year.
- Loyalty: shows the artists you've
consistently listened to year after year, revealing your timeless
favorites.
- Return: spotlights the artists who
made a comeback in your playlist after a long break, reflecting nostalgic
or rediscovered musical journeys.
These new categories help paint a more complete
picture of your year—not only based on what you listened to, but also how
you explored music.
Apple also reminds users that Replay playlists
remain available and updated every week throughout the year. However, the
December edition continues to be the most awaited one, as it compiles all your
annual data in a format ready to share on social media.
To access your Replay 2025, simply visit the Home
tab in the Apple Music app, where a dedicated card will take you to your full
summary.
Replay 2025 for Artists: A Strengthened Tool
At the same time, Apple has updated Replay for
Artists, the version designed for musicians and their teams. This tool now
offers even more detailed statistics, such as the total number of listeners,
the countries and cities where your music is streamed, the total
listening minutes, the most streamed tracks, the most Shazamed
titles, as well as radio rotations, chart positions, and playlist
features.
For 2025, Apple also introduces audience growth
summaries, allowing artists to compare their performance year over year.
These insights have become essential for labels, managers, and independent
artists who want to refine their promotional strategies.
A Cultural Experience: The Replay Gallery in Miami
To mark this 2025 edition, Apple Music is stepping
beyond the digital world with the Replay Gallery, unveiled during Miami
Art Week. This immersive exhibition showcases artworks inspired by the year’s
most memorable musical moments.
Apple collaborated with major international artists, including Angel Otero, Calida Rawles, Devon Turnbull, Gabriel Moses, Henry
Taylor, Jeremy Deller, Sara Sadik, and Tommy Malekoff. The goal is to
create a bridge between music and the visual arts, exploring themes such as
listening, human connection, and digital evolution.
This initiative reinforces Apple Music’s ambition: to
make Replay not just a yearly report, but a true cultural experience that
celebrates the intimate bond between the listener and the music.
