Sony has officially revealed the Hyperpop Collection for PlayStation 5, a new lineup of colorful accessories designed to bring a bold, futuristic aesthetic to the PS5 ecosystem. The collection includes DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers, and will be available for pre-order later this month.
The Hyperpop
Collection introduces three vibrant color options: Techno Red, Remix
Green, and Rhythm Blue.
Each color features a striking gradient
finish, transitioning smoothly from deep black to bright neon tones,
creating a dynamic and modern visual effect that stands out in any gaming
setup.
According to Sae Kobayashi, a member of Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) design team,
the DualSense controllers are wrapped in a seamless front-to-back gradient and finished with a high-gloss coating that enhances color
intensity and visual depth. The PS5 console adopts the same design
language, with an added subtle
transparency effect that gives the console a premium, layered
appearance.
Leo Cardoso, also part of Sony’s CMF
team, explained that the Hyperpop color palette was inspired by the RGB lighting commonly found in high-end gaming
setups, particularly within PC gaming culture. This design direction
reflects Sony’s ambition to merge console gaming with modern, tech-driven
aesthetics popular among esports enthusiasts and content creators.
The Hyperpop
Collection is fully compatible with both the standard PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition, ensuring broad accessibility for
players. Importantly, the new accessories retain all the core features that
define the DualSense experience, including advanced haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and immersive motion controls.
With the Hyperpop
Collection, Sony continues to expand customization options for PlayStation
users, reinforcing its commitment to innovation,
personalization, and cutting-edge design. This launch further
highlights Sony’s strategy to keep the PS5 visually fresh while enhancing
player engagement through expressive, modern hardware aesthetics.
